Former Team India skipper Sourav Ganguly who led India to a final of the 2003 World Cup rated the captaincy of Virat Kohli very highly and asked the spectators and the critics to not look too much into his T20 captaincy especially in the Indian Premier League. Sourav Ganguly is also of the opinion that India has a fantastic pace attack for the 2019 World Cup which is slated to be played in England and Wales from 30th May.

When asked whether India has a good pace attack, Sourav Ganguly said, “Of course. They can always have the fourth one. They actually have four in Hardik Pandya. If anything happens, it’s only an eight-hour flight.

Virat Kohli’s captaincy has come under the scanner in the Vivo IPL 12 after Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their first 6 games to almost knock themselves out of the tournament. However, they kept themselves in the hunt after winning 4 of their next 5 games. However, their hopes were dashed after their 13th game was washed out owing to persistent rain in Bangalore.

Sourav Ganguly stated that the record of Virat Kohli as a skipper and both as a batsman as an Indian batsman and skipper has been fabulous. “Exceptional. His record for India is phenomenal. Don’t judge him by his T20 captaincy; his captaincy for India has been terrific,” Sourav Ganguly said on Virat Kohli’s captaincy.

He was further asked whether there is a flair of Ganguly in Kohli’s captaincy. Ganguly stated that Kohli is better than himself and will go a long way. “He is better than Dada. Kohli is better than Dada,” Sourav Ganguly said.
