Indian captain Virat Kohli is credited to bring awareness among the cricketers for their fitness. Former Royal Challengers Bangalore fielding coach Trent Woodhill heaped the praise of Kohli for his fitness. He also said that Virat is the best batsman because he is adaptable to every situation.
Virat has the highest Yo-yo test score, which makes him the fittest player in the Indian team. Under his captaincy, the selection of players also depends on the fitness of the player.
Trent Woodhill was the Batting Talent Development and Fielding coach for the Bangalore-based franchise for five seasons. He reminisced the 2016 IPL season when Kohli was at his best. In that season, he scored 973 runs at a stunning average of 81.08 with four hundred and seven half-centuries. RCB skipper also led the team to the final of the league in 2016.
Trent said that Kohli is the best player and can adapt to every situation very easily. He said that he loved to watch him playing in the 2016 IPL season.
“He’s one of the best players in the world because he’s adaptable,” Woodhill said of Kohli. “The same with Williamson and Smith. You could pick one of the 3 and you’re in front. Virat has introduced power to finesse and what was noticeable about his 2016 season was his ability to not only place the ball but put it out of the ground when needed. I loved my time with Virat, it was a lot of fun.”
Virat Kohli is the greatest batsman of the modern era, averaging over 50 across all the formats. He is the No.1 ODI batsman and also holds the second position in the Test batting ranking.
