Virat Kohli is passionate, wants to win: Sourav Ganguly
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly praised the Indian test captain Virat Kohli saying his attitude on the field is excellent and his aggression in the ongoing test series against South Africa has been excellent.
“He (Virat) is a good leader … he will be a good leader, but I have said before challenges for Indian captains is not in India it’s away,” the former left-hand batsman said on the sidelines of Coca-Cola-NDTV “Support My School” campaign here.
“I like him. I like what I see on the field, he wants to win, he is passionate, you can see on the field and India has hopes on him,” Ganguly added.
Virat Kohli made his first full series as a captain in three match test series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The Indian team won the test series against Sri Lanka by 2-1 and Virat Kohli has second series victory with an unassailable 2-0 lead with 1 test match remaining at Delhi starting from 3rd December.
Virat Kohli captaincy in both series has been exceptional as he wants to win matches and his positive attitude on the field make him an aggressive captain.
“I am a big fan of Virat Kohli. He is a captain who always wants to win matches on the field and I love that passion in him. I love the attitude and aggression in Kohli,” Ganguly had said.
Virat Kohli was the first captain to win a test series in Sri Lanka after 22 years and also stopped the unbeaten streak of the South African team of not losing an away series in the last 9 years.
Virat Kohli is a team man and wants to perform, win the matches for India. His captaincy in Sri Lanka was excellent because India lost the first test match and after that India played some excellent cricket and won the series.
