Social media has proved to be a boon as well apart from the bane. Perhaps, it has more positives on offer than the major drawbacks. It is a tool which as bridges the gap between sports enthusiasts and their idols. However, it becomes doubly exciting when two professionals decide for banter. Similarly, Team India skipper Virat Kohli has a brief conversation with England veteran Kevin Pietersen.

In his latest post of micro-blogging website, Twitter Kohli posted his recent picture as the caption read, “Basking in the sun.” However, prominent England cricketer Pietersen tried to pull Kohli’s leg by reverting, “Looks a bit like you’re more in the shade, bro (brother!”

Besides, Kohli responded while taking a subtle dig at English superstar.

The 30-year-old Indian top-order batsman Kohli suggested Pietersen should have looked at the caption adding his face is basking in the sun.

“Well, in that case, you should’ve seen my first caption. Much worse.  PS – the face is still in the sun,” Kohli said.

However, Pietersen mentioned, “I will let you because I love you.”

Concurrently, Kohli, who is in a rich vein of form, is in New Zealand for the limited-overs series. The Men in Blue are leading the Netmeds series by 1-0 after clinching the opener by eight wickets in Napier on January 23.

In that particular game at McLean Park, Kohli scored 45 off 59 deliveries before being dismissed by Lockie Ferguson.

Recently, the batting giant Kohli has bagged all-three ICC’s coveted awards. He had a remarkable 2018 season in which he left a significant impact before sealing the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy under his belt for the second time on the trot.

Kohli who aims for another serious win has sight sets on the upcoming 2019 ICC World Cup. Predominantly, his task is to lead India to the glory in England.

As of now, Kohli who has set bar high has maintained his average above 50 in Test and ODI cricket.
