Indian skipper Virat Kohli today announced the launch of a new game based on the ongoing bilateral series against Australia. The game titled – Virat Star Cricket – has been developed and launched as a joint initiative by Nazaara Games and Deft touch Design.

Kohli speaking on the occasion of the launch said: “Experience what I experience the game of cricket.”

Kohli is fresh from handing over a 1-4 defeat to Australia in the ODI leg of the limited overs series. The series was pretty much one-sided and did not see much of competition except the fourth ODI in Bengaluru which they won to score the sole win of the series.

A thorough team effort backed India. In the first ODI at the M.MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Australia inflicted a 26 runs loss (DLS) after gaining an upper in the match early on. Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni were the key influencers in the game.

India later went on to easily win the 2nd and the 3rd ODI at Kolkata and Indore respectively to clinch the series. In the Kolkata game, Australia was bundled out for just 202 during the chase of 253. Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the players for his bowling effort which included hattrick – a very rare feat in ODIs. In Indore, at the Holkar Stadium, Australia did not compete hard again and lost by five wickets. The match saw Hardik Pandya shine again and claim the Man of the Match award. For his all-round performance which saw his pick 1/58 with the ball and hammer 78 from 72 runs during the chase of 294 runs.

Australia’s only win came in Bengaluru where they managed to thump India by 21 runs. However, India ensured that the visitors were unable to narrow the series margin further as they snapped up a cool seven-wicket win in the final ODI at the Vidarbha Cricket Association, Nagpur.

The series now moves on to the T20 leg which comprises of three fixtures which will commence from 7th October at the JSCA Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
