IPL 2019 is all set to kick off on March 23 with long-time rivals Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on each other in the tournament opener on March 23.
Usually, the defending champion team and runner-up of the previous edition take on each other but that wasn’t the case this year due to various reasons.
Both RCB and CSK share a long-time rivalry. One of the major reasons for that is their captains.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the leader of RCB while former Indian captain MS Doni is the captain of CSK.
The fans are always on their toes whenever the two teams face each other and this year, the roar of the fans in the stadium is expected to grow more.
The members of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, after having training camps in Bengaluru, flew to Chennai a few hours back.
Skipper Virat Kohli himself shared a photo on Twitter in which the members of the team were in the team bus.

Overall the two teams have played 22 games gainst each other in which CSK have won 14-time while RCB have seven games.
RCB haven’t won even a game against CSK in past six games.
The last time RCB defeated CSK was in 2014 that was played in Ranchi.
If RCB are to defeat CSK in Chennai, they will have to create history as last time when RCB won in Chennai was in 2008.
Anil Kumble was the star for RCB as he scalped three wickets in his four overs for 14 runs.
This year, CSK are again favourite to win in Chennai but RCB will look to bounce back.
Last year, they finished the tournament s sixth-placed team with six wins and 8 defeats.
On the other hand, defending champions were on the second spot in IPL 2018.
They won nine games in 14 matches to qualify for the next round.
They later went on to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first Qualifier and the final to win the trophy for the third time.
CSK are the favourites to create history and win the trophy for the fourth record time.
