Virat Kohli recently assumed the mantle of leadership for the India’’s Test matches. However, there are some who suggest that he still has much to learn.

This comes from no other than Steve Waugh, who earlier this year won the ICC Cricket World Cup. Virat Kohli, he said, needed to learn from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the art of keeping himself cool in all situations.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is commonly known as the ’cool captain’, for keeping his wits about in every situations.

Virat Kohli had a few issues in the recent World Cup, Waugh feels. He’s been known to get personal and emotional, but as a captain, (Waugh says) these things work against him as a captain.

On the other hand, Dhoni has a notoriously thick skin, and has never worried too much about what the other people say. They’re opposite in terms of personalities, the Australian Captain feels.

Waugh has also spoken up on the opportunity of coaching the Indian team, if possible: he says that there is certainly scope for something like that, but not immediately, perhaps a few years down the line.

He says that he likes to assume the role of a mentor, and probably will pursue that job soon.
