Virat Kohli Proud After Series Win Over Australia
This India- Australia series will be remembered for a really long time and people are bound to have several distinct memories of the same. The intensity with which the series was played was top notch as game after game, the viewers witnessed some high quality cricket. In Australia, the Indians found more than an able opponent as Steven Smith’s young and enthusiastic unit made India stretch till the very end.
Personally with the bat, the series was just forgettable for Virat Kohli. With his recent form before the series being outstanding and having notched up four double centuries in as many series’, a lot was expected from the Indian captain.
Kohli however, failed with the bat as he returned with an array of low scores to his name. An injured shoulder ruled him out of the Test at Dharamshala and safe to say, the Delhi lad missed out on what was the best batting wicket of the series.
The strip at Dharamshala offered genuine bounce and pace, two qualities which Kohli loves to take on. In his absence though, Ajinkya Rahane led the side superbly as his field changes and other tactical moves turned out to be brilliant.
Post India’s win by an innings at the picturesque Dharamshala, Kohli was a proud captain. The Indian skipper lauded his side in a Tweet which he posted after the series came to an end. In the Tweet, Kohli mentioned, “Proud to be a part of this group. Outstanding effort to win this game & the series. Jai Hind”.
