Recently, we came across the reports citing that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the vice-captain Rohit Sharma were involved in a war of words, which certainly came to the notice of BCCI. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir believes that the duo is matured enough to not get into such sort of things.
Reports suggest that a few in the Kohli-led Men in Blue are miffed with the Skipper and coach Ravi Shastri’s “unilateral decisions” and partisanship, Hindi Daily Dainik Jagran claims.
Team India captain Virat Kohli and Head Coach Ravi Shastri apparently take unilateral decisions. Without taking others into a conference, thus creating an atmosphere of discord, leaving the team divided.

Despite Rohit Sharma being the vice-captain of the team and was the leading run-scorer of the tournament, he was kept aside while making the crucial decisions. Certainly, it didn’t help. They sent MS Dhoni down the order, which wasn’t the right decision considering the fact that he is suited to play in tough conditions.
I don’t think there is a truth – Gautam Gambhir
Meanwhile, former India opener Gautam Gambhir sees no truth to the speculation. He said that Kohli and Rohit are responsible enough to not let that happen. However, Gambhir feels that BCCI should have addressed the matter immediately to stop the “tongues wagging.”
“Closer home, I read that there is a rift within the (Indian) team,” Gambhir wrote in his column for The Times of India. “A news article claims that all is not well between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. For starters, BCCI should have by now spoken to the people concerned. And also, should have issued a statement on the matter. Whatever is coming out is all “off-the-record.” It further sets the tongues wagging and gives rise to speculation.”

He continued, “I don’t know what is happening in the dressing room. But from a distance it all settled. Besides, both Virat and Rohit are mature guys. Hence, I don’t think there is any truth in the rift speculation.”
Well, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to meet o July 19th, where they would not only speak about the rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma but also reveals the squad for the tour.
