Mark Waugh | Dean Jones | Head Coach of AfghanistanIndian skipper Virat Kohli has turned out be an unstoppable force in world cricket at the moment. The batsman’s impeccable form and raging confidence is a nightmare for the best of bowlers, and he is it proving it day in and day out. Kohli has gained a staggering fan base not only in India but all over the world owing to the sheer class he is.

The latest addition to the list is former Aussie skipper Dean Jones who flattered the Delhi-born star for his appetite for wins. While Aussie legends like Ricky Ponting are going gaga over Steve Smith after the latter’s brilliant 141 run stands at the Ashes, Jones believes Virat Kohli is a step ahead of everyone in the current era.

Dean Jones also mentioned that he was a huge fan of Virender Sehwag who was also his favourite batsman. But Virat Kohli’s fire in the belly and his self-confidence made him Jones’ new favourite.

“Virat Kohli is my favourite player and he has taken over from Virender Sehwag. I love his aggression and belief to score runs on any pitch and Ravi Shastri brings the best out of Kohli as well. I’m expecting Virat to do a good job in South Africa,” Jones told NDTV.

Speaking about India’s upcoming tour of South Africa, Jones mentioned that Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammad Shami would be the trump card for the visitors. Jones also expects India to put out a stellar fight outside the subcontinent but also admitted to the fact that it will be a tough hurdle for Ravi Shastri’s team.
