Virat Kohli has successfully led the No.1 Test team in their first-ever day-night Test match. India dismantled Bangladesh in 195 runs in the second innings of the second Test match at Eden Gardens and won the match by an innings and 46 runs. With this, the host registered the victory in the two-match Test series by 2-0.
The new tradition (day/night pink-ball Test) in Indian Test cricket is introduced by the newly appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. Within one week after taking the reigns of BCCI, the former cricketer introduced the day-night Test match in India after discussing with Virat Kohli.
The Indian team took up the challenge quite well with inaugurating the new fashion with the victory. The pacers were in full action and picked regular wickets of the visitors. Mohammed Shami’s furious bowling injured Liton Das after the ball struck his helmet. Liton Das was diagnosed with a concussion and was ruled out of the match. A couple of batsmen were also injured with Shami and Ishant Sharma’s bowling.

We have learnt to stand up and give it back – Virat Kohli
The skipper Virat Kohli was asked about the Indian bowlers attacking mode in the field. The player opined that he is following the footsteps of Dada who always gave the advice to play fearlessly.

“Test cricket is a mental battle, we all know that. I mean in the past nobody was trying to injure or hurt the batsman. It was all about getting into their heads and getting them out which used to happen, but now we have learnt to stand up and give it back. It all started with Dada’s team and we are just carrying it forward,” Virat Kohli said.
As expected, Bangladesh has to go home without victory against India in Test cricket. The visitors, first, lost the three-match T20I series by 2-1 and now, the two-match Test series.
