Although Team India captain Virat Kohli is not present with his countrymen in Australia, he has all his eyes on the proceedings in the ongoing Test series. Like his tweet on day one, Kohli was not shy to praise his team’s performance at the end of day two of the second Test being played in MCG.
Virat Kohli also gave a special mention to Ajinkya Rahane, who is leading the team in his absence. The stand-in captain scored a gritty century and earned the praise from Kohli. Taking to Twitter, he labelled Rahane’s innings as the top knock.
“Another great day for us. Proper test cricket at its best. Absolutely top knock from Jinks,” Virat Kohli tweeted.

Virat Kohli on the radar for his paternity leave:

Virat Kohli has returned home to be with his wife Anushka Sharma, who is expecting the birth of his first child in early January. His bold decision to leave the team combating alone with a strong Australian has not taken well by many critics. The former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has also voiced his decision against Virat Kohli.
But Kohli has been open to express that he wanted to be with his wife to witness ‘a very, very special moment in life’.

Meanwhile, as far as the second Test match is concerned, India ended the second day with 82 runs lead all thanks to Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja’s strong partnership. The captain stitched 50 runs partnership with Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant before Jadeja joined him.
Ajinkya Rahane‘s impressive captaincy has further given the opportunity to critics to troll Kohli for the embarrassing defeat in the first Test. However, the regular captain has made sure that he every time stands in support of his team
