After a very good tenure, Mahendra Singh Dhoni retired as the test captain earlier in the year handing it over to Virat Kohli, who has been in exceptional form for more than an year now. Kohli, who is naturally aggressive has put forth his ambition of seeing team India dominate the cricketing world for the next 5 to 6 years.
Kohli said that the team has the talent and the ability to achieve his goal and said that all that was necessary was to manage them and keep them going as a group. He added that with the team travelling together for at-least 250 days a year, the bond between the players is very important. He added that he wants to create such an atmosphere in the team that the people looking at it would understand how closely knit the players are. He wants the players to play for each other and the team and not for themselves.
Kohli who lauded the Australian team said that they give the feel of a strong unit and that the opposition will fear them and have to play at their best to beat them. He wanted team India to reach such an iconic state. He also added that he wants to get rid of any sense insecurity in the team.
Known for his aggression, Kohli said that the aggression is out of self belief that anything is possible. He also said that the tour in Australia where he scored close to 700 runs was a big leap in his career and that it was possible by being positive and aggressive.
