By far, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is finding difficulty to score runs in New Zealand. On Friday ( 21st February), he again lost his wicket cheaply at Basin Reserve in Wellington. It was just like a nightmare to see the No.1 Test batsman going back to the pavilion with his head down. Literally, he must have cursed himself after giving away his wicket to Test debutant – Kyle Jamieson.
As of now, in the ongoing tour, he has been unable to show his talent with the bat while losing his wicket early. And it would not be wrong to say that the ongoing New Zealand tour might be registered as one of the worst for Kohli himself.
So far, He has just scored one half-century in the eight innings (comprised of 4 T20Is, three ODIs, and one Test innings).
Virat Kohli’s cheap dismissal:
Talking about his dismissal in Wellington, it has reminded fans of the dreadful memories of the 2014 England tour when Kohli averaged just 13.40 in five Test matches. On most of the occasions, he was out chasing wide deliveries. But the aggressive player loves challenges and soon he worked on his mistake and became leading Test batsman in the world.
However, in Wellington, it was the same wide ball and Kohli repeated his old mistake. He was dismissed by Jamieson after he just scored two runs.
Kohli hit the ball on outside off stump channel and got the outside edge as the ball flies to first slip where Ross Taylor pouched the ball in his bucket-like hands.

Meanwhile, the first day has been called off because of rain. And, so far New Zealand is leading the game with India losing its five wickets at 122 runs. Besides, it was a day for Jamieson. The lanky pacer scalped three crucial wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara, Kohli and Hanuma Vihari to put Kiwis in command.
