Mumbai will face an adventurous match between West Indies and India. The two teams will play the decider match of the series on Wednesday (December 11) at Wankhede Stadium. Apart from the game, the cricket fanatics are waiting to see the banter between Virat Kohli and Kesrick Williams. In their on-field battles in the last two T20Is, the two cricketers have scored one each. Ahead of the last T20I match, West Indies coach Phil Simmons has opined that it would be interesting to see that who will win between the two cricketers.
Virat Kohli mocked Williams’ celebration
In the first T20I at Hyderabad, Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 94 runs, struck boundaries on the ball of Williams. Then the skipper mocked Williams’ notebook celebration leaving the bowler in shock and a smile in his face.
However, Williams picked the wicket of the aggressive captain in the 2nd T20I at Thiruvanthapuram where the bowler had a muted celebration, apparently mimicking Virat Kohli. He tried not to fire up Virat Kohli with his unique celebration style.
Now, everyone is waiting to see who will win the rivalry game in the third and last T20I match of the series.
It all started in 2017 when India toured the Caribbean to play ODI and T20I series. In the T20I series, Williams celebrated the wicket of Indian skipper with his unique tick in the notebook celebration in Jamaica.
West Indies coach Phil Simmons has said about the rivalry between the two cricketers. He is looking forward to seeing who will win between Virat Kohli and Kesrick Williams in the last T20I match.
“The banter has been good; it has been interesting because they are 1-1 now because he [Virat] got Kesrick in the first match and Kesrick got him in the second. Let’s see who wins it tomorrow [Wednesday],” Phil Simmons said.
Meanwhile, the Caribbean players showed a good cricket in the second T20I match. The unpredictable team can be dangerous in Mumbai with Kieron Pollard, the Mumbai Indians (MI) player, knowing how to play a match-winning game at Wankhede. Virat Kohli and co. will have to work hard to pick the wicket of visitors.
