Indian skipper Virat Kohli added another feather to his cap as the wax museum Madame Tussauds in London unveiled the statue of the right-handed batsman. It is one of the biggest honours for Kohli, who is one of the best batsmen in international cricket at present. Though he is not the first Indian cricketer to achieve this honour as Sachin Tendulkar already holds a place in the museum.

It is to be noted that Kohli already has a statue at Madame Tussauds in Delhi, which was unveiled last year.

It is the first time that he is leading the team in a World Cup and will have an extra responsibility with the bat as well. Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, will have to shoulder the responsibility at the start as the success of India heavily depend on the top three batsmen.

The numbers also suggest that India have not been in the best form whenever these three have failed to deliver. Men in Blue still have a new number four batsman in form of KL Rahul during World Cup, which adds extra responsibility on the shoulders of top three

India will kick off their World Cup campaign next week when they will face South Africa on June 5. Next, India will take on Australia before facing New Zealand and then Pakistan in the marquee contest of the tournament on June 16.

India have not played an ODI since the month of March, which is one of the worries for the team. Though the Men in Blue played two warm-up matches in the leadup to the tournament.

They lost to New Zealand but defeated Bangladesh comfortably. Kohli and co put up 359/7 runs on the board. MS Dhoni and KL Rahul shone with the bat and scored respective centuries.

The bowlers also did well by restricting Bangladesh on a score of 264, thus winning the game for the team. Just like team India’s top three batsmen, the trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will also have a crucial role in the tournament. Like the top three batsmen, they are also expected to play all the matches as India do not have a fourth pacer in the line-up.
