Former India Captain Sunil Gavaskar feels that Virat Kohli should play the Bangladesh Test before being rested for One day international series after having months of grueling international cricket. The Indian team to tour Bangladesh will selected on May 20 and there are reports that playing nonstop cricket since last Novemember in Australia might be rested.
Sunil Gavaskar said that that he wants Virat Kohli to play the Test match and then rest him for three matches one day International series. Acutually the likes of R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav who has bowled a lot can be rested. Ideally as a player I would want some rest as the kind of workload they have had in the past 4 and half months. It will be great chance to test some youngsters who have done well in the IPL and are waiting to get a chance to play in the Indian team.
It could be a good idea to rest Virat Kohli in One day Internationals as MS Dhoni who has retired from the longer version of the game will get much needed 2 and half weeks break. He also said that Bangladesh have done well in the recent whitewashing Pakistan 3-0 and need to send a strong team.
The Indian team has to pick a good squad because Bangaldesh recent performance has been brilliant. When India send a second string side last year the Indian team won the series but they have improved their game in One day Internationals.
