After missing out the head coach role, it seems like Virender Sehwag is looking to get the selector seat for the Indian National Cricket Team. He expressed his desire on the social media panel regarding the same.

Over the years, India boasts of one of the strongest batting line-ups and when Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman played together they were invincible. Off all those, Virender Sehwag came in as a surprise package for India by knocking the boundary more often than not.

He called it quits from all competitive cricket on the 20th of October 2015, his 37th birthday, drawing a curtain on a decorated career that saw several highs and lows.

Who will make me selector? asks Virender Sehwag

However, after entertaining all the fans with his willow, he called curtains in order to give the youngsters a chance to showcase their talent. Following his retirement, Sehwag mentored Kings XI Punjab and sent his application for head coach role in BCCI circuit.

On his Twitter panel, Virender Sehwag quoted asking that who would give him the role to be the selector of the Indian National Cricket Team. He wishes to be in the selection panel.

”Mujhe Selector banna hai… Kaun mujhe mauka dega? #theselector” Sehwag wrote.

The current selection panel consists of chief selector MSK Prasad and the likes of Devang Gandhi, Sharandeep Singh, Jatin Paranjpe and Gagan Khoda. They recently came under the scanner when the controversy has broken out for neglecting Ambati Rayudu for the world cup.

Sehwag played his last Test in 2013 before retiring on October 20, 2015, from all forms of international cricket. He has represented Indian in 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is. He is also the only Indian batsman to score two triple centuries in Test cricket.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether things would pan out for Virender Sehwag or not. The right-handed batsman did his best by putting his name forward openly.
