On Tuesday, Virender Sehwag said that the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) less than 10 days after the conclusion of the ongoing ICC cricket World Cup was not an issue as the cricketers were used to such kind of tight schedule.

When he was asked if the players would be tired after the month and a half long ICC World Cup, Sehwag replied that he has not checked the schedule, but he has heard that the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts on 8th April. It is always like that. Players will get 7 days or 14 days break before the the Indian Premier League (IPL), and then they go home and return and join their squads.

He further said that they are professionals and they are used to it. Like they work every day in a year, for them also it is not 365 days, but only 65 days that they play, so they are okay with this.

Runner-up in the 2014 version of IPL, Virender Sehwag gave credit Kings XI Punjab coach Sanjay Bangar for his man-management talent.

The Delhi batsman, who now plays for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL, at the jersey launch of the team here, said that Sanjay Bangar gives space and time to the cricketer. The cricketers discuss with him like a friend. Same thing he did with Sehwag in IPL 7.

Virender Sehwag was quoted saying: “He is not doing any coaching stuff, but handling each and everyone. He is asking questions to the players, so the players can give answers and he can write it down and remind them before the game which is a good thing to do.
