The term chasing has found a new meaning altogether, thanks to a certain Virat Kohli! The Indian batting heartthrob has simply changed the outlook of chasing in the shorter formats, and his batting displays stand out as an example for one and all.
Kohli was once again at his surreal best against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens last evening, as he got his side home in a tricky run chase. The way Kohli went about his task of chasing the massive total down was simply astonishing as he put on a show of sheer brilliance.
Kohli definitely found an admirer in former Indian opener Virender Sehwag. The Nawab of Najafgarh, in his usual uber cool style, praised Kohli for his fine effort while chasing. Using a dialogue from a Hindi movie, Viru joked that Kohli was so good at chasing, that he might soon end up chasing a few ‘Dons’. Sehwag’s witty sense of humor was loved by all his fans on Twitter and below is his tweet.
Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai, par @imVkohli jaise chase karte hain, Don ko bhi pakad sakte hain. pic.twitter.com/ouOX6khOQT

At a recent event, Sehwag had made it absolutely clear, that comparing Virat Kohli with all time batting great Sachin Tendulkar wasn’t quite appropriate. “No one should compare two individuals. People used to compare me with Tendulkar, me with Viv Richards, that’s not fair. The era is not same. I don’t think we should compare Kohli with Tendulkar,” said Sehwag, about comparisons being drawn between Tendulkar and Kohli.
For his show, Kohli was duly named the Man of the Match against the Knight Riders, and he seemed delighted with his efforts. “It was a tricky run chase because the wicket was sticky and the spinners were gripping it. I knew I had to stay in. We spoke about a good partnership and I had one with AB – another 100-run stand – to take the team home. We haven’t played well in Kolkata, so this win feels very sweet. The right time to go to Bangalore and really happy that Chris Gayle is back in form. Important to respect the sport and do the same things again and again,” said Kohli during his post-match interview.
