Virender Sehwag Only Indian Cricketer in Simon Doull’s Playing XI
Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull has picked the playing XI which he would like to watch his rest of life. In his combination, only one Indian player i.e, Virender Sehwag go the place at the opening slot.
The Kiwi player had a short cricketing career. He was in and out of the team because of injury and the opportunities fell short for him. The pacer has played 32 Tests and 42 ODIs and picked up 98 and 36 wickets respectively.
International cricket council (ICC) asked on Twitter to name the playing XI which they would like to watch. Replying to ICC, Doull tweeted his playing XI.
Virender Sehwag only Indian cricketer:
Simon Doull picked up Virender Sehwag and his country cricketer Brendon McCullum for the opening positions. Both the players are aggressive and have scored a triple century in Test cricket.
To play at No.3, he picked another Kiwi, Martin Crowe. For the next two positions i.e, 4 and 5, he selected two West Indies legend Brian Lara and Sir Vivian Richards respectively. His batting line up is full of aggressive players.
He picked England legend, Sir Ian Botham, to bat at No. 6 and bowl his brilliant pieces of pace bowling. Doull then went ahead and picked one of the greatest wicketkeeper, Adam Gilchrist, at batting at No. 7. The Australian cricket can strike the ball over the boundary ropes irrespective of the format of the game.
The bowling line up has three pacers- Pakistan’s Wasim Akram, New Zealand’s Sir Richard Hadlee, and the late West Indian Malcolm Marshall. The only spinner in his playing is the Australian leg spinner Shane Warne who is one of the finest spinners the cricket world has witnessed.
