Virushka Ends Year With 'Zero'- Fans Troll Virat Kohli After His Duck In Third Test 1

Virat Kohli has had yet another very successful year with the bat. The India skipper started 2018 with a scintillating display in the series against South Africa. He finished the Test series as the highest-run scorer and did the same in the succeeding ODI series too. When the tour ended, Kohli had nearly amassed 1,000 runs across formats.

During the tour of England, he had finished the Test series as the highest-scorer once again, scoring nearly 600 runs. Kohli batted in the same manner throughout the year and is ending 2018 with over 1,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs. In Tests this year, he scored 1,322 runs at an average of more than 133 with the help of five centuries and as many fifties. In ODIs, he amassed 1,202 runs with the help of 6 centuries and 3 fifties.

However, Kohli failed to do well in the last innings of this year. The India skipper failed to open his account in the second innings of the ongoing third Test against Australia. Kohli, who had scored an impressive 82 in the first innings, fell for a duck when India needed some quick runs. The visitors were already in the driver’s seat after bowling out Australia for just 151 to take a 292-run lead. However, they suffered an inexplicable collapse in the second innings and finished the day on 54 for 5. But Kohli & Co. are still on top with a massive 346-run lead.

But unlike the other occasions when fans slam Kohli for a rare batting failure, they found the funny side of his latest knock. Instead of roasting Kohli, they trolled him, saying that it was just the batting star’s way of promoting his wife’s latest release ‘Zero’ which was a big flop at the Box Office.
