Viswanathan Anand has recently claimed that Dhoni knows the right decision for him. But the chess master has also added that the former Indian captain has nothing left to achieve in cricket.

Anand told PTI, “He knows what’s the right decision for him. But I think nothing is left behind or on the table for him.”

Talking about Dhoni’s success, Anand said, “He has a phenomenal fan following. Dhoni had achieved everything which he had set out to achieve. He has won India two World Cups (2007 World T20 and 2011 ODI World Cup) as captain. He has been a great captain. No one can decide (when to quit) better than him.”

Anand further added, “He is obviously in the best position to know what he wants to do. But if he quits, there’s nothing left for him to achieve. He has had a remarkable career.”

After the semifinal of CWC 2019, Dhoni missed out the entire limited-overs series against Windies in the USA and West Indies. During that time, he was busy to serve the Indian Army.

Many had hoped that Dhoni would return to the national team during the upcoming home T20I series against South Africa. However, once again, he has made himself unavailable for this series. Moreover, the 38-year-old hasn’t clarified his future plan.
