Vizay Hazare Trophy 2019-20: Barinder Sran Shifts His Base To Chandigarh From Punjab

Discarded fast bowler Barinder Sran has shifted his base to Chandigarh from Punjab in a bid to find new opportunities which will bring him in the limelight. He is looking forward to playing with Chandigarh in upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20. The pacer has got the No Objection Certificate(NOC) from his parent state, Punjab.

Sran impressed everyone at the start of his career and has played for India in the T20Is and ODIs. But the 26-year old has had many halts in his career because of Injuries. He impressed Yuvraj Singh with his talent and under his guidance, he shined in domestic cricket. Soon after that, Barinder Sran got his debut call for India. The player has picked 47 wickets in 17 First-Class matches and picked 35 in 23 List A matches.

Sran in a recent interview to Times of India revealed why he switched to Chandigarh. In his point of view, selectors are not giving him a chance and are avoiding him. Barinder Sran also admitted that he has no regrets over his decision.

What Warner told Barinder Sran after taking Virat Kohli's wicket?

“They didn’t even give me a valid reason. At least I deserved to know the reason, of why I was dropped. The selectors stopped taking my phone calls. I had no other option. I can’t waste my entire season. So, I decided to make a move and have no regrets,” Sran told to TOI.

Furthermore, Barinder Sran has set his eyes on the India cap. So, he didn’t want to waste time and look forward and play the game once again. Sran also said that he is fully fit and ready to get going.

“I want to play for India again, but for that, I need to play. I am being let down by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). But it is a thing of the past. I am fit now and it’s time to look ahead,” he said.”

But PCA has cleared that didn’t have any such intentions for Barinder Sran as there are many players and they have to select wisely. They also wished the pacer very best in the future.

“Every cricketer wants to play consistently. It is difficult to fix your place in the Punjab side, as it has so many talented pacers. There is Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Arshdeep Singh. This is completely his decision and I respect it and wish him well for the future.”

Barinder Sran recovered his pace in Indian Premier League under the guidance of Zaheer Khan. He changed his bowling style as he got injured with his previous style. He is confident that he will mark a good bowling speed in upcoming season.
