VVS Laxman, mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad backed their opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s form in ongoing IPL and said his form is not a matter of concern. Though Laxman added that domestic players need to score runs. Today Sunrisers Hyderabad is going to take on Gujrat Lions. Raina and Co. Won three matches on the trot.
“Shikhar’s form is not a worry for SRH team. He is a gifted player and when he plays well he finishes off the match. He is a match-winning player.” Laxman said. Dhawan has scored only 16 runs in three matches in IPL this season. Describing SRH skipper David Warner as one in fantastic form, Laxman seemed to be worried about the failure of domestic players coming out to bat in the middle order.
“Warner has been in fantastic form and he played many matches winning knocks, but other batsmen particularly domestic players coming in the middle order need to contribute more with the bats. If openers and middle orders managed to click then the team certainly enjoys the comfortable position,” Laxman said.
however, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s mentor is very pleased with the bowlers. “The bowlers have done well so far for SRH, particularly in the game against Mumbai Indians. Mustafizur Rahman is a smart bowler, he is exceptionally talented, he has a plenty of variation with the new and old ball and more important he is very consistent . Bhuvneshwar, Bipul, Sran all did well against Mumbai Indians and it’s really great to have the first win,” he said.
