VVS Laxman Disappointed By Virat Kohli's Celebration 1

Carrying on the flares from the first innings, Indian skipper Virat Kohli made his intentions very clear as his celebrations said it all. Late on the fourth day, as India declared their innings after gaining a sizeable lead, David Warner was made to look a sitting duck by the Indian spin twins. It was just a matter of time before Warner was dismissed by Jadeja, as the ball pitched on the rough and shattered his stumps.

Once Warner was dismissed, skipper Virat Kohli was in the action right away as he completely ecstatic and jumping for joy. Kohli went on to hold his shoulder and remind the Australian batsman of what his teammate Glenn Maxwell did during the first innings as a reference to the Indian captain’s injury.

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman though, wasn’t’ pleased a bit by this act of Kohli. Laxman, while commentating for Star Sports mentioned that there wasn’t the need for Kohli to repeat the mistakes of the Australians.

“Very disappointed to see a celebration of Kohli after Warner’s wicket,” said Laxman post the day’s play at Ranchi.  “He is the captain. “Someone did a mistake, that does not mean he has to do the same,” the Indian batting legend added.

The day, however, will best be remembered for the sheer grit and heroics of Cheteshwar Pujara, who registered the third double century of his career. “I have the experience of scoring big runs in domestic cricket,” said Pujara. “The experience matters a lot. You look at the bigger picture. When I was batting, I thought we just wanted to get close to their total somehow. I had to restrict myself at times I could have played more shots, but I had to control myself.”
