The decision of Virat Kohli to play county cricket ahead of the England tour has come good to former India legend VVS Laxman.
The former batting legend has praised the Indian skipper for this decision.
Here is what Laxman wrote for Kohli –
Virat Kohli 's decision to play county cricket before the England series shows his drive and commitment to achieve excellence. I am sure not only him,but Team India will do exceedingly well in the England series. Best wishes!

Though an official confirmation is yet to be made, it is confirmed that Kohli will play county cricket in England.
As per the reports, he will be playing for Essex county club.
However, a report in TOI has suggested that he will play for Surrey.

Should he play for Essex, he will play alongside Alastair Cook while if he plays for Surrey, he will play under Rory Burns.
Surrey have international players like Mithcell Marsh and Ben Foakes too.
The latter is yet to make his debut but was the part of the Ashes side and is currently in New Zealand as well.
Kohli joining a county club will mean that he will give historic Test match against Afghanistan a miss.
Ajinkya Rahane, in all likeliness, will play the role of the captain in his absence.
The news of Kohli missing the contest may not go down well with Afghanistan Cricket Board as the team was scheduled to play its inaugural Test match against Australia.
It was only to strengthen the ties between the two nations that the two boards decided to play each other.
Afghanistan, along with Ireland, was granted full nation status by ICC last year.
This made both the countries eligible to play Test cricket.
Just like Afghanistan, Ireland will also soon be making their Test debut.
The William Porterfield led side will face Pakistan in their inaugural Test match from May 11 to 15 in Dublin.

BCCI and Virat Kohli are yet to act on the decision of captain to play county cricket.
Also, no official confirmation has been made.
However, with the news coming out, the county club might soon release an official statement regarding the signing of Kohli.
Apart from him, Cheteshwar Pujara (Yorkshire) and Ishant Sharma (Sussex) will also play county cricket.
They will join their teams soon as they aren’t part of any team in IPL.
These county stints will surely help the three players to prepare well for the ardent tour that awaits Indian team.
