“I want to bat at number 4,” says an audicious R. Ashwin

Indian team in trouble, need wickets – here is Ashwin, batting order has failed – here is Ashwin again.

Slowly and steadily, R. Ashwin has developed himself into the most reliable all-rounder of Indian cricket team, probably the best one in the current era. In the span of just 5 years, Ashwin has shown enough talent to call him the best all rounder. Of course, as he has a batting average of 34.16 in Test cricket, along with that he has 203 wickets in Test cricket as well. Four centuries in the respective column glorifies his achievement and not to forget he is currently the highest run scorer and highest wicket taker for India in this year. Huh! stop something more awaits on the other side as he has just become fastest Indian bowler to scalp 200 wickets in Test cricket and also is the second fastest bowler in the world to enter this record.

With each passing day, he is climbing the stairs of success at quite a fast pace and has already shown glimpses of becoming next big thing in world cricket. Along with bowling, he concentrates equally on his batting as well

“I want to bat at number 4, I know it is not realistically possible, but if I will not think big, then my career will not grow,” said Ashwin.

This shows that Ashwin has an appetite for runs as well and is ready to perform every role offered to him. To take a note, now he already bats ahead of Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja in Test cricket. Surely, if he continues to perform like this then we might see him batting at a position which he chooses to bat.
