Waqar Younis admits Younis Khan experiment failed against India in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
Pakistan’s current coach and former Pakistani pace superstar Waqar Younis accepted that underfire experienced batsman Younis Khan who was sent as an opening batsman in the much-awaited ICC World Cup group-stage match against arch-rivals India was not successful.
India extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in World Cup to 6-0 after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men registered an emphatic 76 run win over neighbor country. Returning on Younis’ presentation, Waqar Younis said that experiment to use Younis was a failure, and also added that it was not too difficult to release an experienced player but in a big event like the ICC World Cup one try to use maximum experience.
The report added Waqar Younis also said that when they used Younis Khan at 3rd position or 4th position he was not getting runs so they used him as an opening batsman but it did not work. Swearing to stage return, Waqar Younis said that it was just the beginning and there were more matches to show their skills and they would return in the games ahead. On Saturday Pakistan will play next with the West Indies at Hagley Oval.
