Jaffer said that when Dhoni’s career had kicked off, he wanted only INR 30 lakh in his pocket to settle and live a peaceful life in Ranchi.
“In his 1st or 2nd year in the Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi,” he wrote.

Well, the wicket-keeper batsman has achieved many new feats in his career. He is the most successful captain of India as he has won three ICC trophies for India.
Nobody would have ever thought that a guy from small-town Ranchi will change the future of the team India. The 38-year-old cricketer is, now, silent on his career but still, fans are hopeful to see him back in the Indian jersey. Although everyone would have witnessed him playing in the IPL 2020 after the long break, however, the pandemic has forced India to go under lockdown for three weeks.
Dhoni last featured with the team in the disheartening semi-finale against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2019. Since then, he is on sabbatical and also, this year, his name was excluded in the central contract list of BCCI.
