Teenager Krishna Pandey has registered his name in the record books after smashing 6 sixes in an over. The 15-year-old batsman achieved the stunning feat on Saturday (June 4) during the match between Royals and Patriots in the ongoing Pondicherry T10 League.

Hitting six sixes in an over is a very rare achievement even in international cricket. So far, only three players have managed to hit all the deliveries of an over out of the park. The first one to do it is former South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs.

During the 2007 50-over World Cup, Gibbs took Netherlands’ Daan van Bunge to the cleaners and hit the leg-spinner for six sixes in an over. In the same year, Yuvraj Singh achieved the same feat, hitting England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes during the inaugural T20 World Cup.

In 2021, West Indies’ Kieron Pollard joined the six sixes club when he achieved the astonishing feat against Sri Lanka. The former West Indies skipper had hit Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in an over.

Krishna Pandey lights up Pondicherry T10 League:

Talking about Krishna Pandey, he achieved the feat while his team was chasing a huge total of 158 in just 10 overs. The Patriots were in all sorts of trouble when he came out to bat. His team was reeling at 40 for 2 after 4 overs and it soon became 41 for 3.

At that stage, it looked like a one-way traffic as the Royals were looking set to register an easy win. However, Pandey had some other plans. The teenage sensation launched a stunning assault and nearly pulled off a miraculous win for his side.

He single-handedly changed the course of the game and revived the chase for the Patriots. In the sixth over of the innings, he tore apart Royals’ bowler Nitesh Thakur. Showing the wide range of shots in his arsenal, Pandey hit five sixes off the first five balls.

Thakur then bowled a wide bowl before Pandey hit the last ball for a six too. Pandey’s brutal knock came to an end in the 9th over when the team’s score was 138. Before his departure, he had played a sensational knock of 83 in just 19 balls. Pandey’s knock included a total of 12 sixes and two fours.

Pandey’s efforts, however, were not enough for his team to cross the finishing line. They eventually finished on 153 for 5 and fell short by 4 runs.
