Virat Kohli’s unbelievable exploits with the bat has helped him win hearts all over the world. In the last few years, the right-hander has scored heavily in every corner of the world. He finished 2018 as the highest run-scorer in both Tests as well as ODIs. What has further helped him become a fan favourite is his persona on the field. No matter how much criticism he faces, Kohli never shies away from expressing himself on the field.
Unsurprisingly, Kohli is loved by fans across the globe and it was seen once again when he and and his teammates along with the Australian team were hosted by the Australian Prime Minister on the New Year. And the announcer, who was introducing the players, addressed Kohli as her ‘cricket crush’.
“It now gives me great pleasure to introduce…I’ve got a total cricket crush (a major admirer of his cricket skill) on this guy. Mr. Virat Kohli, known worldwide as the best batsmen in the world and that passion that he brings on the pitch and on the field is just so exciting to watch…even though I hope you lose this week!” the announcer said.

Kohli, meanwhile, will be eyeing history when he leads India in the fourth and final Test against Australia. The 30-year old can become the first Indian captain to lead the team to a Test series win in Australia. In fact, just a draw would be enough for India to secure the series.
However, a win will help Kohli achieve a few incredible milestones. Another win will help Kohli become the most successful Indian skipper in away matches. Kohli has led India to 11 victories outside India and is currently tied with Sourav Ganguly for the record. Remarkably, Kohli took only 24 games to win 11 games outside India while Ganguly took 28 for the same.
The win will also make Kohli the first-ever Indian captain to win two overseas Test series with three wins in each of the competitions. The 30-year old had led India to a 3-0 Test series win against Sri Lanka in 2017.
