India U-19 all-rounder, Arjun Tendulkar, who is playing his debut series got out on a mere duck in his first innings, as India looks well in line to post a massive total against Sri Lanka. Thus, he didn’t have the ideal start he wanted with the bat on his debut game. Arjun came to bat at No 9 and failed to contribute.
Incidentally, Arjun’s father, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar also got out on a duck on his debut ODI innings. Arjun faced 11 deliveries before edging one off Dulshan to forward short-leg.
India U-19 though continued to dominate against Sri Lanka U-19 thanks to tons from Ayush Badoni (185), Atharva Taide (113) and decent contributions from Wadhera and Rawat who scored half-centuries.
Nehal Wadhera (82) put together a partnership of 199 runs for the sixth wicket. As a result, India was able to dominate the Sri Lankan side. India A registered 589 in the first essay in reply to Sri Lanka’s 244.
Previously, the 18-year old got his maiden wicket when he dismissed Kamil Mishra caught plumb in front of the wickets. The left-arm seamer conceded 33 runs in the 11 overs he bowled and took one wicket in the first innings.
Meanwhile, India Under-19 team is able to take an early lead in the first four-day game. The visitors were able to bowl out the hosts for a paltry score of 244 runs. Harsh Tyagi and Ayush Badoni topped the wickets chart with four wickets each.
