Babar Azam has been giving some absolute hilarious moments during press conferences in recent times and he was at it again on Thursday (February 23). The Pakistan star was addressing the media following his team Peshawar Zalmi’s crushing loss at the hands of Islamabad United in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Peshawar Zalmi suffered their second defeat in 4 games as Islamabad United thrashed them by six wickets. Asked to bat first, Zalmi scored 156 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. The Peshawar-based outfit were off to a solid start with Babar and Mohammad Haris adding 76 runs in just 42 balls for the first wicket.
However, once Haris departed after scoring 40 from 21 balls, the innings pretty much derailed. In no time, the Babar-led side found themselves reeling at 99 for 5 from 76 for no loss. At that stage, the 150-run was looking like a distant dream for Peshawar but an unbeaten knock of 75 from Babar helped them post a competitive total.

It, however, was not a winning one as Islamabad United chased it down inside 15 overs by losing just 4 wickets. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz laid the foundation for the chase by smashing 62 off 31 balls before Rassie van der Dussen and Asif Khan (29* off 13) played fine cameos to take their team home.
Babar Azam’s hilarious reply:
Talking about the incident during the press conference, one journalist left Babar Azam utterly surprised with his comment. The commentator began by surprisingly telling the star batsman: “You must have got boost after today’s success.”
Babar Azam was quick to interrupt the journalist, saying: “Not success, we have lost.”
The journalist, however, did not correct his mistake and proceeded by asking Babar about the poor fielding effort of his team during the game. He asked the Zalmi star about the team’s plans to improve their fielding standards. In reply, Babar hilariously told him: “You have made us win. I am still stuck on that”, leaving everyone in splits.
