The first T20I between India and Australia once again proved that there are very few cricketers who come even close to MS Dhoni when it comes to reading a game let along be better than him. MS Dhoni is one of the most experienced cricketers in the world right now and time and again his young teammates have stated how the wicketkeeper-batsman guides them from behind the stumps. On Sunday, Dhoni once again showed his expertise from behind the stumps.
The incident occurred on the final delivery of the 15th over bowled by debutant Mayank Markande. The leg-spinner had come up with a stunning delivery that almost bamboozled Peter Handscomb. Markande bowled a wrong-un which Handscomb completely failed to read. Consequently, he left a gap between bat and pad but luckily for him the ball trimmed the inner edge and missed the stumps by whisker.

MS Dhoni, on the other hand, read the ball quickly and made his movement quickly. However, the edge at the last moment saw the ball go past him. But his movement towards the movement of the ball showed he knew exactly where Markande was going to bowl while Handscomb was left clueless.
Here is a clip of that brilliant moment from MS Dhoni:

Coming to the game, Australia stunned India by three wickets in the first T20I to take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Batting first, the Virat Kohli-led side could only score a modest 126 for 7 with KL Rahul’s 50 being the biggest individual contribution with the bat. In reply, Australia chased down the total on the very last ball when they needed a couple.

Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins kept their nerves to collect 14 runs from the final over bowled by Umesh Yadav to guide the visitors to a thrilling win.
