A couple of receptions will follow the lavish wedding ceremony. The first reception will be held on November 26 in Bulandshahr, where Bhuvneshwar’s extended family resides before the starry reception takes place four days later in Delhi. Bhuvneshwar’s India teammates will attend the reception in Delhi before taking on Sri Lanka in the third and final Test. Apart from the players, officials from Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are also expected to attend the reception.
“The wedding will take place in Meerut and it will be attended by family and close friends. But we want Bhuvneshwar’s teammates and members from the Board to also take part in celebrations, which is why we will have a reception in Delhi for them. We are sure everybody will attend it because the entire team will be in Delhi from November 30 for the Sri Lanka series,” Kiran Pal Singh, Bhuvneshwar’s father, was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Meanwhile, the pacer will miss the second Test due to the ceremonies. Considered as one of the best pacers in the world at the moment, Bhuvneshwar had starred with the ball in the first Test against Sri Lanka, taking four wickets in each innings to bag the Man of the Match award.
