India skipper Rohit Sharma is leading the team from the very front in the ongoing first Test against Australia at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Rohit Sharma lost the toss on Thursday but it did not stop him from leading the team to a strong position. He marshalled his troops brilliantly as India bowled out the visitors for just 177 in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja was the star with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 47 runs.

Rohit Sharma then led the charge with the bat and gave India a flying start. By the time the first day came to an end, he had raced away to 56 off just 69 balls to held India close the day on 77 for 1.

Rohit Sharma loses cool:

Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin began the proceedings on day two of the Test. The duo took the score past the 100-run mark before Todd Murphy broke the stand by dismissing Ashwin for 23.

India had the platform set for a big total after Ashwin’s departure and the skipper must have hoped that he and incoming Cheteshwar Pujara would guide the team to a good position. His hopes, however, were dashed when Pujara departed for 7.

And Rohit Sharma just could not control his frustration after seeing Pujara perish at the other end. The middle-order batsman went for a sweep shot against a loose ball down the leg-side. He, however, could not make a good contact and ended up top-edging the ball to Scott Boland at short fine-leg.

As Pujara threw his wicket away, Rohit lost his cool at the other end. He was seen hitting his pad with the bat angrily as he vented his frustration.
