While the Bangladeshi players are infamous for their on-field antics, Shakib Al Hasan is an exception by a huge mile.
Unlike most of his teammates, Shakib possesses a calm head on his shoulder and rarely lets the emotion get the better of him. However, Monday (November 20) witnessed a different facet of his personality, as he gave an earful and dramatically vented his frustration after the on-field official turned down his appeal during the Bangladesh Premier League game between Dhaka Dynamites and Comilla Victorians.
The incident happened when Shakib was bowling to his Bangladesh teammate Imrul Kayes in the ninth over. With just 128 runs to defend, the Dynamites finely began the defence by reducing the Victorians to 23 for two. Kayes and Shoaib Malik then steadied the ship before Shakib thought he had his man when his turning ball hit the former on his pads.
It was looking close, and Shakib appealed immediately only to see the umpire turning it out. However, the Bangladesh star was yet not ready to accept the umpire’s decision and approached him furiously in the process. He even shouted in the umpire’s face, but the official remained firm on his decision, as Shakib vented his frustration by screaming out.
Here is a clip of that incident:

Meanwhile, coming to the game, the Victorians defeated Dynamites in the low-scoring affair at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium. Batting first, the home side could manage only 128 with only Sunil Narine (76) and Kumar Sangakkara (28) crossing the double-digit mark.
In reply, the Victorians were off to a poor start, but Shoaib Malik played fine innings of 54 not out to take the side home with two balls remaining.
