Indian bowlers are tightening their grip over the proceedings after having claimed 4 wickets already in the morning session of Day 3. The day began on an ominous note where they lost both their overnight batsman – Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis – were removed in short successions. Later Mathews also departed to put Sri Lankan on a sticky wicket.
Here is the video Jadeja’s 150th wicket:

These three wickets were a huge blow to the home side who are battling hard to save the match after India posted a mammoth 622 on the board batting first. Mathews’ wicket, in particular, was a huge blow as after the fall of Chandimal and Mendis, he remained the only tested guy capable of carrying forward the game ahead.
However, he could show much resistance and threw away his wicket to Ashwin in the 34th over. But, there was more “fascinating” trouble waiting to happen.
Ravindra Jadeja, who had already picked Chandimal earlier on added the wicket of Dhanajaya de Silva in his kitty. To make things worse, he snapped the left hander in the very next over following Mathews’ departure.
While this was trouble for Sri Lanka, the fascinating part was the manner in which the wicket as chipped.
The pitch, as of now, has turned into a track which looks tailor made for the left arm spinner. It suits the pace at which he bowls and a number of revolutions he imparts on the ball. There were many occasion his flat and quick jumped from the good length and beat the outside edge.
Dhanajaya, however, was not fortunate enough to have such lucky escapes. He saw himself getting clean bowled off the very first delivery he faced. The fascinating part was the delivery was bowled from a wide angle over the wicket, pitched on the good length, rapid and just turned enough to beat the batsman and crashed on the leg stumps.
The wicket also enabled Jadeja to reach the 150 wicket mark as well making it a double delight situation.
