Watch: Jasprit Bumrah Outfoxes Shaun Marsh With Stunning Slower Delivery
After the batsmen’s fine effort on the first two days, India needed a solid start with the ball in the ongoing third Test against Australia. And Virat Kohli could not have asked for a better response from his bowlers. Ishant Sharma drew the first blood very early to give India a solid start. Mayank Agarwal took a stunning catch off Ishant’s bowling to send back Aaron Finch. The hosts could add only 16 runs to their overnight score before Finch departed. Jasprit Bumrah then made Marcus Harris to pull one straight at Ishant Sharma at fine leg as Australia lost both their openers with just 36 runs on the board.
Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Marsh then took the score past the 50-run mark but could not bail the hosts out of trouble. Ravindra Jadeja had Khawaja caught for 21 to reduce the hosts to 53 for 3.
And Bumrah then produced an absolute gem of a delivery to help India close the first session on day three well on top. The right-arm pacer dismissed Marsh on the final delivery of the first session to leave Australia reeling at 89 for 4.
Bumrah left Marsh absolutely clueless with a dipping slower delivery that was looking set to hit the stumps but ended up pinning Marsh on his pads. Marsh failed to pick the delivery and consequently could not bring his bat down at the right moment.
Here is a clip of the wicket:
Meanwhile, India have scored a massive 443 for 7 in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara starred with the bat, scoring a century while Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored fifties.
The four-match series is currently locked at 1-1. A win in this game will not only give India an unassailable lead but will also help them retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
