India’s gun paceman Jasprit Bumrah is back in the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah was ruled out in the home series against South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies due to stress fracture in his lower back. The right-arm pacer resumed the practice session on Friday for the first match against Sri Lanka.
The ace paceman was right on the money and bowled accurate yorkers in the practice session. Bumrah is one of the best death overs bowlers in the world and he has a lethal yorker under his belt.

The Gujarat pacer will be making a comeback after a long time and he would like to hit the ground running for the Indian team. In fact, it was recently reported that Bumrah will need to play a match in the ongoing Ranji Trophy to prove his fitness.

However, it wasn’t to be the case as BCCI president Sourav Ganguly gave him a green flag and he didn’t have to play for his state team. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah had last played in the Indian colors on the tour of the West Indies. Bumrah was at his best as he had scalped 13 wickets in the two-Test matches.

The gun pacer had also finished the ICC World Cup 2019 as India’s leading wicket-taker as he snared 18 wickets in the nine matches he played.
Meanwhile, India has a strong record while playing against Sri Lanka in the shortest format of the game. India has won the last five of the six T20I series against the Island nation. The Men in Blue has registered 11 T20I wins against Sri Lanka and they would like to continue their good form going.
The first T20I between India and Sri Lanka will take place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on January 5 at Guwahati.
