Jos Buttler could not control his emotion after failing to deliver against Gujarat Titans in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday (May 29). Expectations were sky high from the star batsman in the final match of the season.

Buttler entered the game on the back of a stunning unbeaten century against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier. However, his red-hot form this season counted for little in the final as he failed to get going.

The hard-hitting batsman just could not find his rhythm in front of the huge Ahmedabad crowd as he was out for 39 off 35 balls. Buttler could not hit a single six during his stay at the crease.

Jos Buttler loses his cool:

While runs were hard to come by, Jos Buttler ensured that he did not lose his wicket. After managing 39 runs from 34 balls, he would have loved to open his arms. But before he could do that and guide his team to a good total, Hardik Pandya dashed his hopes.

On the first ball of the 12th over, Buttler tried to guide a short delivery towards the off side. However, Buttler was undone by the extra bounce as he could only edge the ball to the wicketkeeper.

The disappointment and frustration was clear on his face while he was walking back. Buttler was seen shaking his head in disappointment while leaving the field. And just before crossing the boundary ropes, he angrily threw away his helmet and gloves towards the team dugout before making his way to the dressing room.

While Buttler could not deliver in the final, IPL 2022 has been very memorable for him. He has finished the competition as the highest run-scorer after piling up an impressive 863 runs from 17 matches. He has also scored 4 centuries this season.
