Watch: Josh Hazlewood Ruins Virat Kohli's First Innings Of 2019 1

2019 has started on a forgettable note for India skipper Virat Kohli. The right-handed had finished 2018 as the highest run-scorer in Tests as well ODIs. However, he failed to start the new year on a good note, getting dismissed for just 23 in the first innings of the ongoing fourth Test against Australia. What would further hurt Kohli was that he gave away his wicket on a not-so-dangerous delivery.

Just like the second innings of the third Test, Kohli was strangled down the leg-side. Josh Hazlewood bowled a back of a length delivery angling down the leg-side and the Indian skipper was looking to help it on its way. However, he ended up gloving the ball behind the stumps where Tim Paine made no mistake.  The dismissal ended the promising 54-run stand between Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Here is a clip of that wicket:

Earlier, Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first in the crucial Test. However, they suffered a setback in the very beginning when the recalled out-of-form opener KL Rahul departed for just 9 after edging a Josh Hazlewood delivery in the slip cordon. However, Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara soon helped India regain the control.
