Watch: Josh Hazlewood Sends Abhinav Mukund’s Off-Stump Cartwheeling As Opener Fails Yet Again

With the competition for every place in India’s playing eleven so fierce, the fringe players need to make the limited opportunities count and who knows it better than Abhinav Mukund. Having played the last of his five Tests against England way back in August 2011, the southpaw was recalled into the squad for the one-off Test against Bangladesh last month but could not play the match. But he got another shot to revive his career when Murali Vijay was ruled out of the second Test with a shoulder injury.
However, the Tamil Nadu star failed to justify his selection as he was out for an eight-ball duck in the first innings. And he squandered another chance to make an impression after he was clean bowled for only 16 by Josh Hazlewood in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test.
Looking to present a dead bat to Hazlewood’s straight delivery, the 27-year old failed to read the line of the delivery and the ball, after ricocheting off his pad, went on to disturb his timbers.
Here is a clip of that dismissal:.
