Both Dawid Malan and Kagiso Rabada had a point to prove when they took the field on the first day of the ongoing third Test between England and South Africa at The Oval.
While Malan was making his international debut, Rabada was returning to the playing eleven after serving the one-match ban. The South Africa pacer was banned for the second Test at Trent Bridge after yelling ‘f*ck off’ following Ben Stokes’ dismissal in the series-opener at Lord’s.
Rabada’s absence had not made much of a difference, as South Africa had gone on to win the second Test but the Pacer, nevertheless, showed that the victory could have come earlier had he played. A
After Vernon Philander and Chris Morris reduced the hosts to 113 for three, Rabada put the visitors firmly in command by dismissing Malan for just one with a vicious Yorker.

With South Africa’s pacers bowling a probing line, Malan had managed to survive for 16 deliveries but the left-handed batsman had no answer whatsoever when Rabada produced a stunning in-swinging yorker that knocked him off his feet before crashing into middle stump.
The image of the England batsman on his hands and knees with his stumps as well as debut shattered truly showed the brilliance of the delivery.

It should be remembered that in November last year, Rabada had ruined another debut with his deadly Yorker when he had dismissed Australia’s Nic Maddinson for a duck.
