Watch: Kieron Pollard Hits 28 Runs in an Over Against St Lucia Stars
Hard-hitting Barbados Tridents’ batsman Kieron Pollard was in full-flow during his side’s encounter against St Lucia Stars on Thursday (August 10). Fresh from his whirlwind 33-ball 62 runs in his last game against Jamaica Tallawahs, the right-handed batsman slammed five fours and six sixes in an unbeaten 35-ball 83 to take Tridents to an imposing 196 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs.
Pollard capped off his fine knock by slamming 28 runs off the last over of the innings bowled by his West Indies teammate Jerome Taylor. The first couple of balls were dispatched for fours before the bowling team’s miseries were compounded by a horrible effort on the third ball of the over. Taylor bowled a yorker which Pollard slogged away at long on. And in an attempt to get himself on the strike, Pollard set off for a non-existent double. Pollard’s attempt prompted the fielder to throw towards the wicketkeeper but the throw was the wild one as it bounced awkwardly and resulted in 6 overthrows.
