Watch: Mohammad Amir Superlative Show for Essex With the Ball Against Yorkshire 1

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has made a star entry in the ongoing English County Championship, as he claimed his career-best figures of 10 for 72 in his second Championship game for Essex.

Moreover, an instrumental Amir and England ground seems his redemption now, as he claimed his first ten-for in the Specsavers County Championship. Earlier, in the domestic set-up, Amir bagged 10 for 97 against Lahore Shalimar while playing for National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in 2009.

With the fine pace bowling spell, the 25-year-old was unplayable at times while teasing the opposition on the seamer-friendly wicket, as Essex clinched the game by eight wickets inside two days at Scarborough.

Earlier, Yorkshire set a target of 33 for Essex after trailing by 118 runs, in the second innings which was easily chased down by the side mentored by Chris Silverwood in 10 overs. Interestingly, Amir went on to claim five wickets in the first innings after conceding just 18 runs in 11.2 overs which also included four maidens.

The Tim Bresnan-led Yorkshire was bundled out at 113 in 35.2 overs, as the 29-year-old left-handed opening batsman, Adam Lyth was the top-scorer with 68 off 93 deliveries.

As the pitch offered a bounce which further made Amir unstoppable while swinging the cherry to unnerve the Yorkshire side. Impressive with the ball, Amir has also made a significant return for his national side Pakistan across all three formats after serving the ban of five years due to spot-fixing scandal in 2010 during Lord’s Test.
