Watch: Mohammed Shami’s Stunning Delivery Ends Tim Paine’s Gritty Knock
India were in a desperate need of some quick wickets in the second session of the ongoing Test against Australia. Resuming the day on 133 for 4, Australia ended the first session on a commanding 190 for 4. The hosts now lead India by 233 runs with six wickets in hand. Usman Khawaja and Paine held firm in the first session and did not let India take any wicket. Khawaja was batting on 67 while Paine was on 37 when the first session came to an end.
India needed wickets desperately after the break and they did not have to wait for long. Khawaja and Paine could add only two more runs before Mohammed Shami struck. It was a stunning delivery that left the Australia skipper completely clueless. The short delivery climbed up on to the throat of Paine who leapt up in the air but ended up edging it.
The ball lobbed up and went to Virat Kohli at the second slip which added further salt to Paine’s wounds. Paine and Kohli were involved in several heated exchanges since day three of the game.In fact, on the ongoing day Kohli nearly hit Paine with his chest. With matters getting out of control, the on-field umpire had to intervene.
Kohli, however, had the last laugh as he gave Paine a wry smile soon after taking the catch. Paine, on the other hand, just looked back and walked away.

India, meanwhile, lead the ongoing four-match Border-Gavaskar series 1-0 after winning the series-opener by 31 runs. A win in the ongoing game will help them not only take an unassailable lead but also retain the trophy which they reclaimed at home last year after winning the series 2-1.
