During the first T20I of three-match T20I series between the hosts New Zealand and the visitors India at Westpac Stadium (Wellington), the substitute fielder Mohammed Siraj grabbed a superb catch in the close of the boundary line.
That incident happened during the death overs of New Zealand innings. In the 18th over of that innings, Colin de Grandhomme was facing Hardik Pandya when that incident occurred.

On the fifth ball of that over, the Indian all-rounder delivered a below the waist full-toss ball to Colin de Grandhomme. In reply, the Kiwi batsman slogged it to the deep square leg boundary. The substitute Indian fielder Mohammed Siraj took a running catch there, after keeping an eye on the ball till the end. He was fully aware of the situation and fell on the ground safely at very close of the boundary line.

New Zealand scored 219/6

After winning the toss, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first. New Zealand openers Tim Seifert and Colin Munro provided a powerful start of the 86-run partnership. The hosts scored 66/0 at the end of the powerplay, and they maintained the momentum in that entire innings.
After Colin Munro lost his wicket on 34 runs, Tim Seifert and the skipper Kane Williamson had a 48-run partnership for the second wicket. The wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert scored 84 runs off 43 balls before Khaleel Ahmed bowled him.
In the slog overs, New Zealand was losing the wickets regularly, but they were also successful to add runs on the board. While the Kiwi skipper scored 34 runs, Ross Taylor and Scott Kuggeleijn played some good cameo knocks in the end. Ross Taylor scored 23 off 14 balls, and Scott Kuggeleijn remained not out on 20 off just seven deliveries. At the end of 20 overs, New Zealand scored 219/6.
Among the Indian bowlers, Hardik Pandya was the only bowler to claim more than one wicket (2/51). Also, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Krunal Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket each.
