Video: MS Dhoni's Beautiful Gesture As He Allows Manish Pandey To Score The Winning Runs 1

While there is absolutely no denying the fact that Mahendra Singh Dhoni loves to finish the games, one can also not disagree with the fact that he always puts his team and teammates ahead of him. His penchant for finishing the games with the big hits over the fence is well known among the cricketing circles but it has never stopped him from stealing the credit from his teammates. Who can forget the incident of the 2014 World T20 semifinal when he let Virat Kohli score the winning runs despite having the chance to do or more recently in the last ODI against Sri Lanka last week when he let his successor hit the winning runs. Well, something similar was witnessed in the recently-concluded T20I international against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Chasing 171, India were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 42 for 2. However, stunning knocks from captain Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey almost sealed the match in the favour of the Men in Blue before the former was dismissed for 82 with the team needing only 10 runs. Pandey scored 8 runs off the next three balls to bring the equation down to 2 from the final over, giving Dhoni an opportunity to finish yet another game. However, the World Cup-winning skipper once again showed his greatness by scampering for a single and allowing Pandey, who was batting on 47 at that time, to hit the winning stroke. Pandey, nevertheless, fully capitalised on the opportunity as he hit a four to compile his maiden T2oI half-century.

Here is a clip showing Dhoni letting Pandey hit the winning runs:
